Cane Cut Chenin Blanc

2010 Tasting Notes

The Cane Cut Chenin Blanc is limited in production. At optimum flavour ripeness the cane is cut at the base of the shoot allowing the bunches to dry out. This concentrates the sugars and flavours in the berries resulting in a luscious dessert wine.

Golden straw in colour the 2010 Cane Cut Chenin Blanc shows marmalade, with creamy honey an scorched almonds on the nose. The palate is lusciously sweet with an array of cumquat and tropical fruit characters balance with crisp acidity. Enjoy now or will cellar up to 3 years.

" Dessert wine that provides a bridge between the light styles and the big ripe sauternes style. It has a deep complex mix of marmalade and cream stone fruit plus a light floral touch on the bouquet. The palate is rich and luscious but with a refreshingly clean acid. Excellent light dessert style."
